During his college years he served as a resident counselor and was a member of the T.K.E. colony on campus. He also worked for the Playboy company as one of their College Campus Reps. In his freshmen year at Pershing College he was the head basketball coach at St. Joseph elementary school in Beatrice, Nebraska. In his junior and senior year he was the assistant basketball and softball student coach for the female teams. In his Senior year he was given the position of Director of Intramural sports.
After graduation he became the head wrestling coach for Holy Trinity High School in Chicago, IL, where he won two conference championships, the first in schools history - and, he was selected conference coach of the year twice. Dr. Tom also ran his first fundraiser for the school and wrestling team where he raised over $50,000 with the help of the student body.
Dr. Tom returned to Nebraska to attend the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where he had been selected to be the graduate assistant on the wrestling team while completing his Master degree. At this time Tom competed in wrestling and power lifting AAU tournaments and became the university's first power lifting national champion at 123 lbs in 1976 and set a national record in the dead lift of 430 lbs. Tom spent his off hours in the weight room with the then famous weight trainer Boyd Epply who founded the Nebraska strength program.
Tom returned to Chicago and took over as the Head Wrestling Coach at Concordia College where he was again honored as District Coach of the year twice. once by the NAIA and once by the NCAA. He also received two AAU Tournament Administrator of the Year awards for his work as tournament director of the then Junior National Championships, one of which was the largest wrestling tournament ever held in the USA (over 2,000 wrestlers). During this time Tom also became a International Wrestling judge and was the first resident in Illinois to become a FILA II ranked referee.
Dr. Tom has run a very successful fitness center after leaving Concordia College and wrestling; it is known as the Human Performance Center, where Tom worked with some of the top pro bodybuilders and was a contributing writer for Muscle & Fitness, Flex, and Iron Man magazines. During this period Tom expanded his interest into the fitness apparel industry. He started a small company HPS Body Gear and started designing and manufacturing fitness apparel. This venture grew into designing apparel for night clubs and custom apparel for entertainers. Tom, has moved on into the retail market, and other management positions as well as working for several fitness and automotive publication reporting and photographing car shows before taking on the challenges of heading up the WORLD MOTOR SPORTS BREAST CANCER FOUNDATION.

Stephanie M. Beers - Raykovich, Board Member, Webmaster and State Director - Indiana. She is also the owner of one of the World Motor Sports Breast Cancer Foundation’s Corporate Show Cars. Stephanie brings a wide range of experience to the Foundation.
Stephanie grew up in a military family, so she moved around frequently when she was growing up. She has lived in South Dakota, Ankara Turkey, Plattsmouth Nebraska, Indianapolis Indiana, and Elgin Illinois.
Stephanie has always been fascinated with everything about cars, and always worked with her father in his shop on cars, trucks and motorcycles, starting at a very young age. With this fascination, she also grew to love restoring older cars, trucks and motorcycles, not to mention the self discipline of maintaining her own day to day car.
She graduated from Franklin Central High School in 1998 and participated in art, mechanical and architectural drafting/engineering, and was a member of the Cross Country Team. Stephanie is also an alumnus of the 1998 class of Central Nine career center, which she attended during her last few years of high school. She concentrated on Mechanical Engineering/AutoCAD.
During her junior year in high school she bought her first classic car to restore. It was a 1972 Chevy Monte Carlo. While she worked on it, she also drove it day to day. And when she was not at school or participating in car shows, she worked part time at AutoZone, helping people find the parts they needed, or helped them diagnose issues they were having with their cars.
After graduating high school she attended Lincoln Technical Institute for Mechanical Engineering which included classes in AutoCAD/Inventor programs. The same year she and her boyfriend started a car club called ‘Low Budget Customs’. She managed the program as a non-profit club as well as designed and maintained the club’s web site.
Stephanie earned her Associates Degree and graduated in 1999 from Lincoln Technical Institute. Just before graduating, she was in a hit and run accident with her 1972 Monte, and had to total it out. After graduation she moved to Elgin, IL and took a job with a HVAC/Plumbing engineering group in Chicago IL. After a year, she found a new classic car to start restoring. It was a 1971 Chevy Monte Carlo, one year older then her last Monte Carlo. Soon after, she married her boyfriend and high school sweetheart. After about three years, they returned to Indiana and Stephanie began working for Bridgestone/Firestone Industrial Products where she is currently a Junior Mechanical Drafter/Engineer. In November 2008 they had a daughter, Alicia.
During the last 9 years she and her husband have been slowly restoring her 1971 Monte. They also continued with their car club, 'Low Budget Customs’ by hosting benefit car shows to help various charities.
In late 2008, Stephanie was sponsored by Asylum Autowerks in Castleton, IN (was called Sinister). They customized her Monte Carlo’s trunk and interior which sparked a friend, Matt Bluiett, of the Sinister’s shop to offer to paint her Monte at a discount. After 9 long years of preparation, the Monte Carlo was finally painted. Stephanie had a vision ever since she had her first Monte, to have a unique pink paint color scheme. She was tired of people asking if it the car was hers when she attended car shows or drove it (it was grey primer for a few years). She had it painted two tone candy pink. This color matched the theme she choose for the truck which was built by Asylum to include a custom box to hold three bottles of her favorite alcoholic drink, “Alizé Rose”, which is a mix of vodka and strawberry juice.
Mid year 2009, Stephanie met “Dr. Tom” at the annual Slamology Car Show held in Indianapolis. She was moved by his charity (WMSBCF) and wanted to help, and since her Monte is pink, the color of breast cancer awareness, she knew her Monte could be a great help to the charity. She soon started working with “Dr. Tom” on the web design for WMSBCF, as well as attending shows to represent WMSBCF as one of their custom corporate show cars. She continues in this effort, even though she had another baby, Aaron, who was born Oct. 8th, 2009.
Stephanie appreciates having a family that enjoys all aspects of cars and showing them as much as she does and looks forward to her continued participation with WMSBCF.
